Grub kann sowohl iso als auch normale (Partition)Images lesen.

Frage

Wie gebe ich dem Kernel die Info, dass die Rootpartition ein Image ist?

Wie mountet der Kernel den Root-Folder

Es hängt alles mit Kernelparms (root) und initfs (ev. scripte) zusammen.

Vorteile

• image via QEMU und Grub startbar
• image portabel
• image mutierbar (updates u.s.w).
• image einfacher in der Handhabung als iso

Machteile

• grösser und somit 4GB-Grenze (FAT32) schnell erreicht
